As you watch your children rush around, living life to the full and exuding lots of natural energy, protecting their bodies from injury might be a long way from your mind. But it’s worth remembering that although children are naturally flexible, many have poor spinal mobility due to sitting for ages at the computer or doing homework. They frequently have tight hamstrings as they don’t stretch very much, and they also carry heavy schoolbags – usually over one shoulder.

This makes children more vulnerable to straining their back, pulling a muscle or finding running and exercising more difficult to do. Children are growing – at times, very quickly – and growing pains can hurt.
